Transport - Deliveries
Qflow calculates the distance between the material dispatch address and the project site location, to estimate the delivery transport emissions. This is done using a connection to the Azure Maps API. Deliveries from mainland Europe to the UK assume travel through the Channel Tunnel via driving.
Using this distance, the BEIS GHG conversion factor of a diesel HGV is used to calculate the carbon associated with these vehicle movements; see the table below.
Transport - Waste
Qflow calculates the distance between the project site location and the waste facility destination to estimate the waste transport emissions. This is done using a connection to the Azure Maps API.
Using this distance, the BEIS GHG conversion factor for a diesel HGV is used to calculate the carbon associated with these vehicle movements; see the table below.
Is a different carbon factor used for electric vehicles?
No, we assume diesel HGVs as the vehicle type for all journeys. Upon analysis, there is very limited data available on the DVLA regarding vehicle type which apply to data we see in Qflow.
