When data is missing from tickets, Qflow can estimate, enhance, and calculate information to fill in these gaps. This helps to reduce the number of alerts and notifications that are raised, as well as improve compliance for the project.
Any field which Qflow has gap-filled is indicated by the ‘sparkles’ icon, you can hover over this to find more information on what has been added. Below, we’ll go into more detail on each of the datapoints we look at.
Deliveries
On delivery records, you may see the ‘sparkles’ on:
- Site address
- Dispatch address
- Supplier
- Trade contractor
- Journey distance & emissions
- Item volume & weight
- Product group
- Item Embodied carbon
| Field | Overview | Benefits |
| Site address | Depending on the preference set when requesting a new project, the site address given for the project will override whatever address is stated on the delivery ticket. The options at project set up are: 1. Always use this address 2. Only use this address when the delivery address or site origin is blank 3. My site has multiple addresses, if there is no address given leave this field blank | Site address is needed to calculate mileage and carbon. Reduction in the number of address variations to ensure consistency. |
| Dispatch address | When no dispatch address is included on the ticket, Qflow will use a known address associated with the supplier where possible. | Dispatch address is needed to calculate mileage and carbon. Reduction in the number of address variations to ensure consistency. |
| Item volume & weight | If a product group is present, Qflow will attempt to gap fill weight/volume if not present on the ticket. This is calculated from median weights/volumes which are present on tickets, per product group and project type. A minimum of three values are required in order to gap fill. | Better representation of products delivered to site. Embodied carbon will also be calculated from these which would have otherwise been missing. |
Waste
On waste records, you may see the ‘sparkles’ on:
- Origin site address
- SIC code
- Subcontractor
- Carrier & Carrier licence
- Facility operator
- Facility site address
- Facility permit
- Journey distance & emissions
- Container type
- EWC
- Item volume & weight
| Field | Overview | Benefits |
| Origin site address | Depending on the preference set when requesting a new project, the site address given for the project will override whatever address is stated on the delivery ticket. |
| SIC code | If SIC code is not present on a ticket but the Carrier Licence is present, the most used SIC code for the Carrier and project pair will be used. A minimum of 3 values is needed for this. If a user manually adds the same SIC code to 3+ records (where same carrier licence is also present), new records created after that point will be gap-filled. This is done on a project basis, so it will not gap-fill the same info across projects automatically. | SIC code is needed in order to comply with EA requirements. |
| Facility site address | When no dispatch address is included on the ticket, Qflow will use a known address where possible. | Facility site address is needed to calculate mileage and carbon. Reduction in the number of address variations to ensure consistency. |
| Facility permit | A user can manually add a facility permit 5+ times for the same carrier licence within a project, and as long as there isn’t another permit with the same number of instances for the same carrier licence, the system will gap-fill on new records created. This is done on a project basis, so it will not gap-fill the same info across projects automatically. | The facility permit is needed to determine the waste management outcome and carbon reporting. |
| EWC | A user can manually add the same EWC 5+ times for the same waste carrier licence for it to be gap filled on future records. A user can manually add the same EWC 5+ times (without a carrier licence) for it to be gap filled on future records. | EWC codes are needed to determine the waste management outcome and carbon reporting. |
| Item volume/weight | Volume can be estimated using the container type. If there is no container type or volume present on the ticket, a median from the project is used. Weight is calculated using the volume and WRAP density factor. | Volume and weight on waste items inform the waste management route and is used in carbon calculations. |
